Why offline games still matter in 2024

Why offline games still matter in 2024

It's easy to assume everyone has perfect signal all the time. Then you take a train through a tunnel, or a flight, or you're just somewhere the network gives up. That's when an always-online game becomes a locked door.

Offline games respect your reality. They don't punish you for being on a plane or trying to save data. Everything you need is already on the device, and that reliability is worth a lot.

There's also a quieter benefit: no interruptions. No mid-session sync, no server maintenance killing your evening. You open the game, you play, you close it.

We build this whole site around that principle. If a game can't survive airplane mode, we don't cover it, full stop.
