Strategy
Tideborne Empire
★★★★☆ 4.4
Tideborne Empire puts you in charge of an island nation that grows by managing trade routes, harbors and a small fleet. It's a strategy game with no timers pushing you around, which is rare and welcome. You plan, you build, you watch it pay off.
The economy has just enough moving parts to feel clever without becoming a spreadsheet. Balancing food, timber and shipwrights against the threat of storms kept us engaged across several sessions. Storms are the closest thing to a villain here, and dodging them takes real forward planning.
It's not flashy, and the tutorial could explain more. But once it clicks, it's the sort of quiet game you leave running in your head all day.
What we liked
- No pressure timers
- Satisfying economy loop
- Great for slow, thoughtful sessions
