Puzzles for the five-minute break
Some days you don't have a session in you, just the gap between meetings. That's when a good puzzle game earns its place on the home screen.
The key feature is instant resume. I want to open the game, be dropped exactly where I left off, and lose nothing if I close it mid-move. Games that force a loading screen and a menu dance before every board don't make the cut.
Lantern Hollow surprised me here even though it's more adventure than puzzle. Its little environmental challenges fit neatly into short windows, and the calm tone is a nice reset between tasks.
If you want something purely mechanical, Casinacho Win fills the same slot for me: one board, one break, done. Just be warned it's easy to promise 'one more' and lose the whole break.
