Simulation
Gearsmith Workshop
★★★★☆ 4.1
Gearsmith Workshop is a management sim about fixing mechanical devices. Customers drop off broken clocks, music boxes and odd contraptions, and you diagnose, order parts and repair them. It sounds dry, but the tactile repair mini-games make it satisfying.
Progression is steady. You unlock better tools and take on harder jobs, and the shop itself can be decorated as you earn a reputation around town. We appreciated that failing a repair just means trying again rather than a harsh penalty.
It leans repetitive after a few hours, and the part-ordering menus could be snappier. Still, as a cozy offline sim to dip into, it does the job.
